What a wonderful hotel! The room was so cozy with adorable antique touches. If you are the type of traveler who likes staying in spots with history, you will love the Rathbone. Other reviewers mentioned issues with their cars, but we were here two nights and had no issues at all. We did bring all our luggage into our rooms and didn’t leave anything visible in the car, but that feels like normal city protection against smash and grabs. Every person we interacted with at the hotel was lovely. They gave us tips on what part of town to visit, which jazz clubs to hang out at, and made us feel right at home. My only complaint is we didn’t stay long enough! See y’all again soon.

Highly recommended from a first-time visitor to NOLA (but please don’t blow this gem up so I can’t stay here next time). The staff is amazing - so friendly, accommodating and generous. The epitome of Southern Hospitality. The location was PERFECT - close enough to everything, but quiet enough for us to get our rest. The rooms were comfortable, especially the beds. When we come back to NOLA, we’ll definitely choose Rathbone mansions again - thank you all so much for a fantastic experience!!

Was expecting a restful weekend. The free "upgrade" came at a cost. The stairs were so steep once I made it to the room I didn't want to come and go. Next time I'll keep the room by the pool. However, don't expect rest..ghosts keep u up at night.

The area that this hotel sits is not a good area per the Nola PD. My daughter checked in and asked for a parking space and was told there were no spaces available inside the secured gate, so she had to park on the street. Within an hour of getting in the room she hears her alarm going off. They look out the window and see her car window shattered on the ground . So they ran downstairs and the guy saw them looking and took off in a black small suv. The steering column was broken and the ignition pulled out and the car was on. The police showed up very quickly and said that they've been looking for this guy as he's been terrorizing the neighborhood and is armed with a shotgun. Being that it was 5pm there were no window glass shops open to replace the window and they definitely could not leave the car on the street. So we call the hotel management after hours number to only reach the answering service. They finally got in touch with the hotel management and after speaking with the manager, she mysteriously was able to produce a parking space. My daughter feels like they were discriminated against in the beginning because they initially asked for a parking space and was told there are none available but a few hours later, there's now a space available. We appreciate them offering a space after the fact, but the damage is now done. I'm not faulting them for the break in but it could have been prevented if they were provided a parking space initially when asked. This could have prevented the whole situation. Not to mention, the door of the room has so much play and it doesn't feel secure. The towels feel hard and crusty, the shower head is broken. At this point they are scared and uncomfortable to be at this hotel. Not sure if they have bed bugs but she was bit by something in the room. When they asked for a refund, they were denied. So now they have to spend more money to check into another hotel and they have no car now because they had to take it to an auto shop to be repaired so the ignition and window can be fixed. The condition of the room is deplorable. They spent $802.00 to stay there for 5 nights. All they want is their money refunded so they can move on. And all of this on their honeymoon. The hotel offered to move them to another room but the damage has already been done. They feel lied to and discriminated against on the parking. Now mysteriously there's parking available. They stayed one night with one eye open. This is no way to spend a vacation. They've now checked into a more secure name brand hotel and it's like night and day.

My wife and I are honey mooning here in New Orleans and were referred to the rathbone. Upon arrival the front desk was friendly but we were told there was no available parking and we would have to park in the street. Within an hour of our stay our car was broken into. We were able to call the police file a report and drop off the car at a local car dealer but once we got back it was late and decided to deal with it in the morning. But in all the “Superior King Suite” has terrible up keeping their are too many problems with the room to list them all so we took photos of what we could. When we addressed our concerns with the front desk we were told we’d get a free parking inside. Which doesn’t help at all due to our car getting repairs done. What I find the most atrocious part is that they won’t even give us a refund because we used a third party to book the hotel and because the incident with our car didn’t happen on the property… this is not worth the $130 we payed a night, and if the SUITE is this bad imagine what the guest rooms look like. We are not happy with our stay one bit.

Wonderful place to stay. Great location right in a historical district. Amazing house. Takes you back almost 200 years. The area around is nice enough to walk our dogs. Initially I was unsure if our BMW would be safe, but it’s doing just fine out there on the street. Reminds me of my Nana’s house (also almost 150 years old). Front desk people were very nice. We were able to check in after normal hours. At the end of a long road trip, it was a great place for me, the wife, and the dogs to relax. After reading the other reviews with the negativity and photos to show “disrepair “ I wanted to edit my review: If you are the type of person who needs the outlet covers to be perfectly aligned to the wall on a 200 year old house, you should stick to cookie cutter basic hotels. It’s going to have uneven floors, they might even creak (the horrors!!!). The walls aren’t perfect, and the furniture might even have been used at some point. And the guy who complained his lemonade moscato went missing; why on earth would you admit you drink lemonade moscato. Are you 16? Accept that You have the palette of a 9 year old girl and try to grow up. I wouldn’t admit I lost that swill if someone paid me to say I did.

We stayed at Rathbone Mansion while in New Orleans a few days ago. From the moment we got there Gloria at the front desk was an absolute doll. The Mansion was absolutely perfect. Well worth the money, we took an Uber to French quarters and …
